Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I continue to see my healthcare providers?

Because Lauren Lockwood, CNM, WHNP provides telehealth care only, maintaining a relationship with a primary care provider and/or a gynecologist remains important. Many clinicians do not have specialized training in the complex hormonal changes of perimenopause. Support through Vera Women’s Wellness is designed to bridge that gap with focused, expert guidance.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Lauren can prescribe medications, including hormone therapy, order labs and imaging, and provide referrals to other healthcare providers when needed.

 Do you accept insurance?

Vera Women's Wellness doesn’t bill insurance directly. However, you may be reimbursed by your insurance for treatments-usually considered out of network. Consult with your individual insurance plan for details. We can provide a superbill and you may also be able to use a FSA or HSA.

For labs, medications, and imagining that may be ordered, many patients use their insurance as they would with any other care.

For patients with Kaiser insurance: Kaiser does not accept lab orders or prescriptions from non-Kaiser providers. However, affordable options are still available. I can help you understand how to obtain labs and medications using transparent cash pricing and trusted outside resources so you can continue your care without interruption.

What sets Vera Women's Wellness apart from other Telehealth peri-menopause specialists?

Perimenopause is everywhere right now — a quick scroll through social media makes that clear. With any popular topic, many people and companies claim to be the solution. Some are helpful, but others offer a one-direction approach that can lead to unnecessary prescriptions and added costs.

Vera Women’s Wellness is more than a quick hormone visit. Lauren Lockwood, CNM, WHNP takes a whole-body approach to helping patients feel well, including thoughtful discussion of nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and how each affects hormonal health. Visits are unrushed, follow-up is close, and care is individualized and adjusted over time. There is no one-size-fits-all plan — what works for one person may not work for another.
